This information package is set out to help you better understand our great value five nights four days all you can eat & fly XC/AIRTIME tours. If after reading through this package you have some questions/queries please email us at dynamic@netconnect.com.au or give us a call.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided for tour participants at the Dynamic Flight School bungalow:
*Twin share rooms. One double.
* Wood heated mudbrick common room with huge screen TV, videos and DVDs, flying mags ect.
*Spacious eating area, undercover open air with views, bar-b-q, drinks fridges and coffee machine.
*Limited download satelite broadband is available for those with laptops.
NB. Accomodation for the night after the last day is included in our tour costs, no discounts apply if you choose not to stay this or any night of the tour.
Meals
All meals are provided as part of the tour costs. All-you-can-eat 3 meals a day; continental breakfast, packed lunch and smorgasboard dinner are provided.
Sometimes long retrieves prevent us from getting to food shops before closure so we find it easier and more healthy to have all evening meals here.
It is suggested you bring along a drinking container to fill with our rainwater before heading out to the paddock. As the weather is normally quite warm you will tend to dehydrate quite quickly – so keep the fluid intake up. Allow yourself 3 litres per day. Eskies (with ice in them) will be provided for storage of your drinking water and soft drinks.
Towing
Some days may be more suitable for towing than going to the mountains or coastal ridges. We will supply all the tows than you can handle and aerotows if you are endorsed.
If you want more than one XC flight in a day there will be several vehicles available for quick retrieves so you can come back to the flight park for another tow if you feel up to it.
All tow ropes and gauges are supplied by us therefore there will be no need to bring along your own. You will however need to bring along a tow bridle; it is also handy to have a spare just in case. If you don’t have a bridle or need to purchase another one please contact us at least two weeks prior to attending the tour so we can ensure stock.
We will once again be following the HGFA guidelines pertain to towing, and as all of you hold your endorsement should know all the following commands
Driver Ready to take up tension
Pilot Take up tension please
Driver I have tension this end
Pilot I have tension this end also
Locking on the radio
Picking up the glider
Wind is xx strength
Wings are level
Bridle is free and clear
Go, go, go
Airborne …
Thanks for the tow, unlocking the radio
As a reminder – anyone leaving their radio locked on for more than a minute after tow is required to shout drinks for the crew that night!
Radio Communication
Due to the fact that many farmers in the area use UHF radios to communicate between themselves and their families it is our chance to promote the sport by being polite and concise with all transmissions – think about what you want to say before you switch the microphone on.
For your speedy retrieve, please endevour to give some form of communication at regular intervals, like when you get high, transmit your height, bearing and distance to/from the paddock. This makes it much easier for the retrieve crew to keep tabs on you and therefore retrieve you much quicker when you finally land.
Any offensive language over the radio is deemed a cartonable offence (you must purchase a slab of drinkable beer) for all XC tour participants’ enjoyment!
Maps
We will provide maps for the tour areas, this way everyone has the same information in front of them when they give their landing location details. This speeds up retrieves.
Tour Leaders
This year we will have a number of Leaders on hand to give information, help and instruction where and when required. They are here to make your day easier so feel free to ask them when you need a hand for anything flying.
