Thank you for inquiring about tandem hang glider flights, this is a great way to experience hang gliding without committing yourself to a certificate course.

At present we conduct our tandem instructional flights in the following way:

 Non Powered Flights (passenger weight limit of 90kg).  You will need to be capable of running five steps for launch and landing. You will be shown how to correctly use your harness for launch, flight and landing.  Starting launch with a few running steps beside the pilot, we climb from flat ground under tow (similar to a kite) to altitudes of up to 500 meters before the pilot releases the tow rope and we glide free.  You will be given an opportunity to control the glider at this point if you wish.  Flight times vary depending upon daily weather conditions. Flights times are generally about 10 minutes though we do endeavour to extend this if weather conditions permit.  The cost for this flight is $198.   

 Powered flights (passenger weight limit of 130kg).  You will be seated during this flight directly behind and slightly above the pilot, similar to a motorbike but with a four point (racing-car style) seatbelt and bucket seat keeping you secure.  The 70 HP engine fitted behind the seats provides power for launching and climbing flight. During this flight you will have an intercom to talk freely with the pilot and will be offered an opportunity to control the aircraft.  This aircraft glides with the engine off.  It has wheels so no running is necessary for launch or landing.  Flight times are kept to 20 minutes but can be extended if daylight or weather permits.   The cost for this flight is $80 for the first 20 minutes and $30 per 10 minutes thereafter. Extra time can be paid for on the day.
  
Scheduled Tandem Flight pre-winter dates are:  May 7th to 9th and June 4th to 6th.  The last few hours of daylight are generally the smoothest times for flight, therefore we encourage you to plan for an evening flight.  We can adjust our scheduled dates for groups of three or more.  Discounts apply for group bookings, larger discounts for larger groups.  Suitable flying weather must be confirmed with us 24 hours prior to your booked flight date.
